Center for Child Protection is Austin’s nationally accredited children’s-advocacy centre — the first stop for children in Travis County who have experienced suspected sexual or physical abuse, or witnessed violent crimes. They provide a full support system under one roof: forensic interviews, medical exams, therapy, and educational prevention trainings — all free and multilingual.

By supporting the Center, we align with an organisation that protects the most vulnerable. Their holistic approach to healing, justice, and prevention gives traumatized children a safe space to start recovery — and helps break cycles of abuse.

Centre of Hope provides shelter, essentials, and long-term care for orphaned, neglected, and HIV-positive children — offering full-time housing, meals, medical care, schooling support, and emotional/social nurturing.

Beyond just shelter, they run an educational-support programme for children from the surrounding community who don’t live at the home — giving them access to after-school tutoring and developmental activities.

By supporting Centre of Hope, we help ensure vulnerable children receive holistic care, stability, and opportunity: not only a safe childhood, but a shot at a brighter, healthier and hopeful future.

Sinovuyo was set up in May 2015 by its own elder community in Khayelitsha. The club offers a daily day-care facility (Monday to Friday, 9 am–2:30 pm), where roughly 30 seniors aged between 60 and 94 gather for companionship, social activities, meals and general support.

Beyond basic care, the Centre — with the help of volunteers and community-led initiatives — provides health monitoring, social engagement, and access to sustainable support programmes like gardening and food-security through organic gardens.

Fair Trade Safaris proudly supports CHOSA — a grassroots charity that funds and empowers local children’s homes, early-childhood centres, and community-run education & after-school programmes across Cape Town and beyond. Rather than imposing top-down solutions, CHOSA gives unrestricted grants and capacity-building support, enabling communities to decide what’s best for their children.

Fair Trade Safaris supports Great Commission United because they work right at the grassroots: offering after-school tutoring, physical education, youth mentorship, and early-childhood care in under-resourced communities. They also create job opportunities for unemployed youth via their “continuum” and “YearBeyond” programmes — helping them get real work, training and purpose instead of being stuck with nothing. By aligning with GCU, we invest in long-term social upliftment, youth empowerment and community stability, backing projects that build both opportunity and dignity from the ground up.

Fair Trade Safaris proudly backs Uthando SA — a nonprofit that fuses ethical travel with grassroots activism. Through their “philanthropic educational excursions,” Uthando connects travellers and donors with impactful community-development, early-childhood programmes, youth empowerment, urban farming, elder care and other social enterprises. By supporting Uthando, we help fund sustainable community projects and give back to South African communities in a way that’s respectful, impactful, and long-term.

Kronendal Music Academy (KMA) delivers high-quality music education to children from under-resourced communities around Hout Bay — including the areas of Imizamo Yethu and Hangberg. Since 2007, they’ve used music as a powerful tool to offer safe transport home, daily meals, homework support, psycho-social services, and a nurturing environment after school.

By supporting KMA, Fair Trade Safaris helps create meaningful opportunities for youth: giving them access to musical instruments, mentorship, and a pathway to personal growth and stability rather than exposure to risk. This aligns with our core value of reinvesting in community and uplifting under-resourced populations through sustainable, talent-building initiatives.

Fair Trade Safaris stands with The Teddy Bear Foundation, a frontline NGO dedicated to protecting vulnerable children and supporting abuse-survivors. They deliver integrated services — including forensic medical and psychological assessments, trauma-informed counselling, court preparation, prevention programmes in schools, and community outreach for gender-based violence and early intervention. By partnering with them, we amplify our commitment to social responsibility: aiding children who’ve suffered abuse, helping them heal, and giving them a shot at a safer, healthier future.
