The fine print, in plain words
No platforms, no logins on other sites. Everything is tracked by our own team, so phone and WhatsApp referrals count too.
- Commission
- 3% of the total package value your referral books. Not included: international flights, park fees and visas.
- Your friend's welcome
- Friends may get special offers on selected trips, decided case by case.
- Groups
- Host a group of 8 or more paying guests and your own place on the safari is covered, instead of commission on that trip.
- Getting paid
- Commission is earned when your referral pays their deposit, and paid 30 days after they return home. We pay monthly once at least US$50 is owed.
- Your link
- Remembered for 90 days. Friends can also give your code by form, phone or WhatsApp.
- Minimum payout
- US$50. Anything less rolls over to the next month.
Who can become an ambassador?
Anyone who loves Africa and travel that does good: past guests, travel creators, group leaders and wildlife lovers. You don't need a big following.
How much can I earn?
3% of the total package value your referral books, not including international flights, park fees and visas. On a US$10,000 safari that's US$300.
What does my friend get?
We sometimes have special offers on selected trips, for example in Kenya, South Africa or on Kilimanjaro, decided case by case. We'll let you know when there's one you can share.
How long does my link last?
90 days from the moment someone clicks it. Your friend can also give your code when they enquire, by form, phone or WhatsApp.
When do I get paid?
Commission is earned when your referral pays their deposit, and paid 30 days after they return home. We pay monthly once at least US$50 is owed.
What if I bring a whole group?
Host 8 or more paying guests and your own place on the safari is covered, instead of commission on that trip.
Does it cost anything to join?
No. It's free to join and there's nothing to buy.

Programme terms
Commission is 3% of the total package value price paid by the client you refer. It does not include international flights, park fees and visas, taxes or third-party fees.
A referral counts when a new client enquires within 90 days of clicking your link, or gives your referral code when they enquire.
Commission is earned when the client pays their deposit and becomes payable 30 days after they return home. No commission is due on any amount that is cancelled or refunded.
We pay monthly once at least US$50 is owed to you.
Special offers for friends are decided case by case on selected trips, and cannot be combined with other offers.
Group hosts: when you host 8 or more paying guests, your own place is covered instead of commission on that trip.
Please don't bid on the Fair Trade Safaris name in paid search, make claims we haven't agreed, or send spam. We may update or end the programme or an ambassadorship at any time; commission you have already earned will still be paid.
