Thank you for your interest in participating in our trip to Africa this summer. Below are some important details:

Length and dates of the trip: The trip will be for 15 days and 14 nights in Africa - i.e. not including the travel time to and from Nairobi, Kenya, which will be our point of entry into Africa and point of exit out of Africa at the end of the trip. At this time, we have not set in stone the specific dates of travel; but the trip will be in some time in the summer (July/August/September) of this year, 2015. We will firm up the dates in the next couple of weeks – i.e. by the middle of April. If you are considering joining us on this adventure, please let us know which dates in July, August and September you are NOT available for travel, and we will try our best to accommodate you.

Number of participants: Space is scarce - we are limiting this trip to only 17 adult guests. In addition to the paying guests, there will be group leaders and coordinators accompanying us throughout the two weeks that we will be in Africa.

Safari Accommodations & Wildlife Tracking: Fair Trade Safaris and our Africa-based travel experts have curated a collection of hotels, lodges, and luxury tented camps that are of the highest standards, and that will deliver exceptional experiences. We have also identified the very best wildlife guides and trackers to lead us during our safaris and wildlife game drives. These guides and trackers have spent several years studying animal behavior, understanding human-wildlife interactions, and tracking the movements of the wild animals within the wildlife parks that we will be visiting.

Cost of the trip: Because Fair Trade Safaris is NOT a profit-driven/high-margin company (we donate 100% of our profits to various community development, wildlife conservation, and habitat/environmental protection projects in Africa), we are able to offer prices to our guests at significant discounts compared to what other high-end/luxury travel operators may charge for a similar trip. In spite of our modest prices, please know that the quality of our trips and the level of luxury that we offer is absolutely top-notch!

For this trip in August/September 2015, guests who confirm their participation and make their payment by April 20th will enjoy a discounted price of $10,950 per person. After April 20th, the price will go up to $12,450 per person. This price includes pretty much everything from the moment you land in Nairobi (Kenya) until the moment you are dropped off at the Nairobi airport for your flight back home. The price does not include international travel from your home/departure city to Nairobi and back to your home. It also does not include gratuities and tips, travel insurance, visa fees, and any personal expenses (telephone calls, shopping, etc.) Please note that at a couple of the hotels, lodges, and camps, premium alcoholic beverages would cost extra; but water, soft drinks, juices, beer, house wines, and regular spirits are included in the price.

NOTE: The prices quoted here are for double-occupancy – i.e. a person sharing their accommodation (hotel and lodge room or luxury tent) with one more person. If you would like to have a room/tent for just yourself, then the price will be higher. Please contact us if you would like the single-occupancy pricing.

Deadline to commit and make payments: As mentioned above, you would need to confirm your participation and make your payment before April 20th in order to get the discounted price. The absolute final deadline to commit (even at the higher price) is May 10th.

Itinerary: During this trip, we will experience nature and enjoy wildlife safaris in three world-renowned game parks (Masai Mara, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro). We will also spend time in two cities/towns (Nairobi, Kenya and Arusha, Tanzania), and immerse ourselves in the eclectic culture, the flavorful cuisine, and the stunning beaches as well as the clear, warm ocean waters found on the island of Zanzibar (Tanzania).
